“MOSS ELP Lead” Program Here is a great lead sound created using the EXB-MOSS board. So good we had to share it! This sound was created by Jack Hotop for his demos at a recent NAMM show. According to Jack, he wanted a lead sound where he could easily morph between two different “ELP” type of sounds, so that he could continue to play on one program as the backing tracks moved from song to song. This sound was originally played on a TRITON using the Realtime Control Knobs to edit the Cutoff, Resonance and Release of the filter. The Ribbon controller was used to manipulate the Envelope settings. Although this sound was originally created on the TRITON, it can be played on any Korg product equipped with the EXB-MOSS Option – TRITON Classic, TRITON STUDIO, TRITON-Rack, and KARMA. You must have the EXB-MOSS board installed to use this sound. For the TRITON users who are also using the software program "LOGIC" from Emagic: This is a LOGIC environment, which supports choosing sounds by names, and is current through the EXB-PCM09 ("Trance Attack") soundset.
Also supported are 16 "track strips" - one for each MIDI channel, with every available parameter that can be modulated/controlled via MIDI. This actually allows more access than the the TRITON panel/screen itself. Third Party K-SoundsK-Sounds offers piano and tonewheel organ sound libraries in native Triton series format. Additional sound libraries are available for other Korg synthesizers.

Here is a handy set of files for Triton users working with a computer software sequencer. These "Patch Definitions" are .txt files that list all the patch names for each of the EXB-PCM Triton Expansion boards. When installed into the FreeMIDI application, the Patch names will appear in the Pop-Up Patch Lists that are available in Performer, Digital Performer, FreeStyle, and Composer's Mosaic.
This is much more convenient than remembering patch numbers, or entering the names manually. Enjoy!

PC users should download the .zip file, Mac users should download the .sea file. Then extract the PCG file and copy it onto a freshly formatted floppy disk. Load it into your instrument and enjoy!
