Before you start: Make sure that your Korg device is setup up for proper use of the driver. Settings such as Exclusive filter, Clock Rate and MIDI select should be checked and set according to your Korg manual. Connect your computer to the Korg MIDI instrument with a serial cable (AG-001).

Click the Start button in the taskbar, and choose Settings/ Control Panel from the pop-up menu. Select Add/Troubleshoot a device and click Next.
For Windows NT4.0 users: |

2. | In the Control Panel, double-click the Add/Remove Hardware icon to start up the Add/Remove Hardware Wizard, and click Next. | |
3. | Select Add a new device, and click Next. | |
4. | In response to the question "Automatically detect new hardware?" be sure to select "No," and click Next. | |
5. | Select Sound, video and game controllers, and click Next. | |

Insert the floppy disk which contains the "KORG PC I/F Driver". Or, if
you have downloaded the file, make certain you have copied the contents
of the KORGMIDI folder onto a formatted disk in the A: drive. Do not drag these files while still in the KORGMIDI folder. |

7. | Click "Have Disk...". | |

A dialog box will appear, allowing you to specify the drive and
folder. Type A:\NT
and click OK.
Click the Next button two times. If a warning dialog box about Digital certification appears, click Yes and go on. |

A setup dialog will appear. You can customize the driver to work best with
your Korg product here. When settings are completed, click OK.
For more info on settings, see "Setting up the MIDI driver utility screen", or click here. Note: If you receive an error message, you may have the wrong COM Port selected. If you're not sure of the COM Port you are using, you can successively try the COM Ports, clicking "OK" after each new setting until you find the right one. |

11. | Click Finish, and restart confirmation dialog will appear. You must now restart the computer the activate the driver. |

Installation for Windows 95, 98, 98SE or ME Operating System |

Click the "Start" button on the Task Bar and then select "Control Panel" under "Settings". | |

Double click the "Add New Hardware" icon in the "Control Panel" and click "Next >" to start the Add New Hardware Wizard. | |

"No" must be chosen on the "Add New Hardware Wizard" page, and then click "Next >". | |

Choose " Sound, video and game controllers" and then click "Next >". | |

You must now restart the computer the activate the driver.

Setting up the MIDI Driver utility screen |
1. | For the Serial Port setting, select the serial port to which the Korg instrument is connected from COM1 to COM4. You can use this serial port for other purposes while this MIDI port is not in use. | |
2. | If Independent Synth/MIDI Out is not checked, only Default MIDI can be used. Data that is output to Default MIDI will be sent to both internal sound generator and MIDI OUT. If Independent Synth/MIDI Out is checked, Default MIDI, MIDI Out, Synth-A and Synth-B can be used. But operation will depend on the instrument. | |

3. | Synth Out Messages allows you to select the types of message that will be sent to the instrument. And MIDI Out Messages allows you to select the types of message that will be sent to MIDI OUT on the instrument. |

4. | When you finish making settings, click the OK button. |
Finding and modifying the MIDI Driver utility screen - 2000 or NT |
1. |
In the Control Panel, double-click the Sounds and Multimedia
icon, and the Sounds and Multimedia Properties dialog box
will appear. Click the Hardware tab located at the upper right. |

2. | Select KORG PC I/F MIDI Driver for Windows NT in the Devices list and click Properties. | |
3. | Click the Properties tab. | |
4. | Click the [+] for MIDI Devices and Instruments (the display will change to [-]), and click KORG PC I/F Driver for Windows NT. | |
5. | Click Properties | |
6. | The KORG PC I/F MIDI Driver for Windows NT Properties will be displayed. Click the Settings button. |

Finding and modifying the MIDI Driver utility screen - 95, 98, 98SE or ME |
1. | In the Control Panel, double-click the "Multimedia" icon. The Multimedia Properties dialog box will appear. | |
2. | Click the "Devices" tab located at the upper right. | |
3. | Click "MIDI devices & Instruments" | |
4. | Highlight "Korg PC/IF Default MIDI" by clicking once on it. | |
5. | Click on the "Properties" button. | |
6. | The KORG PC I/F MIDI Driver status window will be displayed. Click the Settings button. |

Notes/ Legal |
Under the Korg PC I/F MIDI Driver for NT/2000, no more than one application can use MIDI ports (Synth-A/B, MIDI Out) at the same time.
